It was founded on August 24, 1970 with the programs of Law, Education, and Accounting at the San Joaquín Convent, known as the San Francisco Convent. Starting in 1980, it was moved to a beautiful campus with 260,200 square meters at La Umbria, in the south of Cali – Colombia. This campus includes tennis courts, soccer fields, basketball courts, volleyball courts, an Olympic swimming pool, parking lots, modern technological infrastructure, and more than 85,000 square meters of buildings dedicated to academic activities which include a large library, high-tech laboratories for engineering and design workshops, a Mac multimedia room, a sound laboratory, a research laboratory, a creativity laboratory, micro informatics rooms, and comfortable classrooms.
The academic structure of the university is organized into five faculties: Architecture, Art, and Design; Economic Sciences; Law and Political Sciences; Human and Social Sciences; and Engineering. These faculties offer 23 undergraduate programs, more than 40 postgraduate and continuing education programs, ensuring that graduates and the general public can stay updated and keep advancing in various fields of their professional development.
