Created on August 24, 1970, it began academic work with the Law, Education and Accounting programs at the San Joaquín Convent, known as the San Francisco Convent, and in 1980 moved to Umbría, south of the city of Cali, a beautiful campus with a 260,200 square meter campus, which contains tennis courts, soccer fields, basketball and volleyball courts, an Olympic swimming pool, parking lots, modern technological infrastructure and more than 85,000 square meters of buildings for the academy, including a large library, high-tech laboratories for workshops in engineering and design, a multimedia Mac room, a video laboratory, a research laboratory, a creativity laboratory, microcomputer rooms, a computer room, a library, a multimedia room, a video laboratory, a research laboratory, a creativity laboratory, a microcomputer room, a computer lab, a library and a computer lab.The campus includes a large library, high-tech laboratories for engineering and design workshops, a multimedia Mac room, a video lab, a research lab, a creativity lab, microcomputer rooms, and comfortable classrooms.
The academic organization of the University is made up of five faculties: Architecture, Art and Design; Economics and Administrative Sciences; Law and Political Sciences; Human and Social Sciences and Engineering and a School of Sports. With 23 undergraduate programs, 44 graduate programs and more than 100 continuing education programs, it guarantees its graduates and the general public that they will be able to update and continue advancing in different fields of their professional development.
It is also the first university in southwestern Colombia with a technology and business park where students carry out professional internships, develop their business and research ideas and build their own companies. The park has four intelligent towers equipped with the latest technology that allows students to live their entrepreneurship and research processes.
