The Universidad de San Buenaventura Cali, considers Institutional Welfare as one of its four substantive functions. Institutional welfare, as a generator and builder of knowledge, is both an object of study and research. Institutional Welfare responds to the expansion and dynamization of different forms of knowledge from the different dimensions of the human being. Institutional Welfare as the fourth substantive function of the Universidad de San Buenaventura de Cali is based on the construction of knowledge derived from its practices.
“The University of San Buenaventura, consistent with the Franciscan thought of forming man and serving society, assumes the university notes from its conception of knowledge that it defines: 1.As the dynamic development of the multiple possibilities of the intelligence that the person possesses and not as the product of the supposed dualisms of will and intelligence, sensitivity and reason, intuitive knowledge and conceptual knowledge.
As the process that favors spaces that enable search, inquiry, creativity, dialogue and individual and collective development, making use of aesthetic, poetic, playful, scientific and conceptual codes that expand the possibilities of people’s realization”. [1]
This knowledge is therefore universal and encompasses all fields of human thought; it therefore responds to the concerns of human beings and the needs of society. Thus, thinking, feeling and acting are fundamental criteria for recognizing the universality of knowledge. Knowledge at the Universidad de San Buenaventura is assumed as universal, corporate, autonomous, investigative and creative.
Objectives
Contribute to the integral formation of the members of the Bonaventurian University Community through programs, activities and services, oriented towards the different dimensions of the human being, becoming a source of human development, which facilitates the construction of a collective and concerted proposal that involves and commits the university community.
